Matt Cain is definitely not having the type of start to the 2013 season Giants fans and major league baseball has become accustomed to. A positive for Cain is three of his last four starts he has allowed two runs or less. After San Francisco’s thrilling win last night at home, you’d expect for the team to carry over that momentum into today’s game against the Rockies.

Colorado has over achieved to start the season. These next few weeks can be money generators for those wanting to capitalize on them coming back to Earth. Take the Giants today

The end of the game in the Pacers and Heat has drawn all a stir of poor coaching by Indiana Head Coach, Frank Vogel. Let that be the case for Friday’s plus 7.5, as the bookmakers still have money pouring in on the Heat. During the season Indiana defeated the Heat 2-1, and had another victory in their hands Wednesday.

There were several catalysts in that game that would make you jump on the Pacers today. The Heat never could get a proper home lead they’re accustomed to, in fact their largest lead was only five. Chris Bosh struggled to grab any rebounds of any sort, and should have been called for an offensive foul on a late three point play put back.

Miami which is accustomed to pulling away from teams because of a disparity in foul shots, could not get that accomplished Wednesday. In fact, they found their stars in foul trouble as well.

The Heat had their games against the Bulls where they had to play an entire four quarters to pull out a win. Indiana is healthier and a far better team in half court sets offensively than the Bulls were.

It’s going to be a tight series, and plus 7.5 may be the last standout line of this series before Vegas pulls it back to 4-5 points for a Heat home game.

Texas lineup is built to produce runs, and they have not let down in that department. Just on Sunday their offense was enough to overcome three Miguel Cabrera home runs against Detroit.

Jarrod Parker heads to the mound for Oakland tonight, and has had recent success. Outings against Kansas City, Cleveland, and Seattle have been decent but look for his fortune to get back near his current ERA over six.

Take the over on ten runs tonight.

As series extend in the playoffs the trend has been good teams have tightened up their defense. Memphis is known for their defense and many people would like to write them off based on their opponents thus far in the playoffs. The Clippers were banged up and the Thunder were without Russell Westbrook. The truth of the matter is that the Grizzlies keep things simple.

Defensively they communicate and play stellar half court defense. Some games things just do not go well. The Spurs broke a three point record in game one, and as a result the final was a lopsided affair.

This should be a great chance for the Grizzlies to bounce back and limit the Spurs offense. Memphis is not going to ever standout offensively, so thus I like the under of 181.5 as today’s free play.

Yesterday’s free play did not come through victorious, but sometimes even a loss can be critiqued properly. Especially in major league baseball where series are played. As I mentioned yesterday the Diamondbacks have been inept at producing runs as of late.

They got back on track yesterday thanks to sole producer in Paul Goldshmidt, who had two blasts and four RBI’s. His hot start sent the Marlins starting pitcher in Kevin Slowney back to the dugout in the third inning.

The Diamondbacks did have sixteen hits but I need to see more consistency from their offense before I’m sold. Take the under on eight runs today. If the oddsmakers had this more in the 9 to 9.5 range then it would be warranted. But with the Marlins failing to produce runs, and the Diamondbacks inconsistencies they have it right.

Watching the Miami Marlins atrocious lineup goes down with some of the worst franchises a professional sports team has put out on display. Fans no it, the players know it, and the media knows that the team is purposely disastrous from their front office.

Today the Diamondbacks head to Miami to start their series against the Marlins. The Diamondbacks have not been all that impressive with their bats the last eight to ten games, but the Miami Marlins should be able to fix that. I just do not believe it will be the first game of the series.

The Diamondbacks had scored three runs or less in seven of their last eight games. Their five run outburst in their last game against Atlanta was the first game of the eight to break that barrier. Four of those runs came with two outs in the sixth inning off of Tim Hudson.

With yesterday off to soak in South Beach, you can expect the slumping of the Dbacks bats to continue for another game.
