JUNE 27TH MLB OVER/UNDER FREE PLAY

The over/under in the Diamondbacks and Nationals is just 6.5. Both Stephen Strasburg and Patrick Corbin have kept their ERA’s relatively low. Corbin though has not been able to reach the ten win mark, as the bullpen has failed him multiple times.

Such achievements being derailed can weigh in any athletes head. The thought of it being in a pitcher’s head has to be of higher concern. The rest of the Diamondbacks starters have been awfully inconsistent and that also puts added pressure on Corbin.

Strasburg is one of those high profiled starters that you can get high value on taking the overs on over/under lines. He has given up several early inning runs. 6.5 is about a full run too low for me.

NBA FINALS GAME TWO FIRST HALF TOTAL

It seems like the Heat and Spurs played game one a month ago. Yes the NBA stretches out the NBA finals more than any other sports championship. The focus obviously is on how the Heat will respond amid a fourth quarter collapse in Game One. The questions surrounding the Big Three’s stars besides Lebron James continue to feed the media.

On Sunday’s free play we will focus on the first half line total. It is at 92 points, and was at that mark almost every game in the Heat/Pacers series. Pretty much every game it sailed under the first half total. Indiana missed a lot of easy layups in first halves and did not get to the free throw line nearly as much as San Antonio does.

That can be traced back to point guard play, which Indiana did not really have in George Hill. Tony Parker is as elite a point guard the game has, and his bread and butter comes in the playoffs.

With the Heat expected to come out gunning and the veterans of the Spurs digging down to try and keep in game two, I expect the first half to be sail over the total of 92

BACK TO THE DIAMOND; FRIDAY FREE PLAY

Last weeks series in Oakland saw the series struggle to produce runs for both the White Sox and Athletics. Now the tide changes and shifts to the city of Chicago. A week ago I posted the free play with both pitchers at the mound in Oakland, and I’ll do the same today.

Chris Sale and Jarrod Parker combined for a great outing in a 2-0 game June 2nd. Parker allowed two hits while Sale allowed four. An incredible night for both. Chances of both pitchers throwing that well again are doubtful considering their overall pitching record this year, and hitters wanting to avenge their woeful performance of a week ago. No individual can accept being shutdown an entire night as a competitor, which all athletes are. Imagine a whole team with that mindset embedded and fresh in their heads off of five days.

Everyone has loved the Houston Astros and runs galore given up in pitcher, Erik Bedard. Bedard is on the steep decline side of his career, and is likely making his last stop in Houston. He is the type of pitcher that can’t go beyond five innings. That type of stat may bode to be acceptable with a good bullpen, but the Astros obviously do not have that.

The rise of runs will continue on Bedard and the bullpen tonight. Take the over of 10.5

HEAT VS PACERS GAME FOUR TOTAL

The Pacers were finally rolled on in a shocking lopsided home defeat. People tend to remember their series versus the Knicks, in which they dominated for the most part. In round one though they were sporadic for a few games, and lost a few games by lopsided losses.

They might be down for the count in this series tonight, but they will get back to their proper style of defense.

Frank Vogel will adjust his defense from the new twists the Heat threw in game three. Chris Anderson and Udonis Haslem cannot keep at their rate, and Dwayne Wade just is not showing a complete four quarters of offense.

This should go under the total of 184.5. If it doesn’t than the series is all but over, as the Pacers were not able to make adjustments.

MEMORIAL DAY OVER/UNDER FREE PLAY

It comes as know surprise that most games involving the Miami Marlins are going to see a total of the norm of 7-8 runs. They send out a lineup that just is not a typical major league franchise caliber team. Tampa Bay just faced a dinged up Yankees team and prevailed over CC Sabathia yesterday after a three game losing streak.

This is the type of game that screams an under play. Miami and Tampa Bay are only separated by 280 miles. On a memorial day you can guarantee lots of the Miami players family members have traveled with them. Look for Jake Odorizzi to settle down in his second start this season for the Rays after allowing five runs in his first start against Toronto, May 20th.

The Marlins have only scored over four runs, four different times in twenty three games in the month of May. Tampa’s bats just came to life and have not been consistent all season as their subpar record shows.

Look for a slow start with the 3:10 Eastern time start.
