Cards Face Tough Challenge
By Zack Cimini
The Arizona Cardinals have been notorious for their high draft pick bust selections. Anquan Boldin was thought to be the steal of the draft last year, but many people forget that the Cardinals took him in the second round. It was Calvin Pace and Bryant Johnson that the Cardinals took in the first round. While both showed promise last year, they really didn?t make a great impact on a team that was in dire need for anyone to step up.
This year the Cardinals have the third pick and will now likely get one of the two top receivers. That will be either Mike Williams or Larry Fitzgerald. Both are underclassmen but have showed tremendous talent and college, and seem ready for the jump. One of them on the Cardinals team would automatically give the Cardinals a receiving group for the future. With Anquan Boldin, the rookie, and Bryant Johnson as the third receiver, you?d have to figure the Cardinals have one of the top ten groups in the league.
Now the question will be if Josh McCown can handle the pressure. He has shown composure in his interviews and seems to be prepared mentally, but on the field it could be a different story.
